More about the Portland International Raceway

Nestled just north of downtown Portland, Portland International Raceway has been a fixture on the North American road racing calendar since 1961. The 1.967-mile, 12-turn permanent road course features a mix of long straights, heavy braking zones, and technical corners that create excellent passing opportunities.

Originally built on the site of the former Vanport community, the circuit hosts a variety of events each year, including the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, sports cars, motorcycles, and amateur racing. Its Pacific Northwest setting often brings changing weather conditions, making forecast timing an important factor for race strategy and on-track performance.
