ARLINGTON, TX WEATHER

IndyCar Forecast Discussion

Weather conditions across North Texas should be favorable for the inaugural weekend of the Grand Prix of Arlington, with a warm and generally dry pattern in place across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. A strengthening ridge over the southern Plains will allow temperatures to climb well above seasonal normals by Friday, with afternoon highs reaching around 80°F under mostly sunny skies. Morning sessions may begin a bit breezy as southerly winds increase across the region.

Conditions remain warm through the weekend with highs generally in the upper 70s Saturday and near 80°F Sunday. Winds may become a factor Sunday as a stronger pressure gradient develops ahead of an approaching cold front, potentially producing gusty southerly winds during the afternoon. While rain is not expected during race activities, increasing winds and warm temperatures could influence car balance and tire performance on the temporary street circuit around Arlington.

More about the Grand Prix of Arlington

The Grand Prix of Arlington is one of the newest additions to the IndyCar Series calendar, bringing top-level open-wheel racing to the heart of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The temporary street circuit winds through Arlington’s sports and entertainment district, passing near landmarks such as AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field.

The layout combines wide boulevards with tighter technical sections typical of modern street circuits. Long straights offer overtaking opportunities, while several slower corners emphasize braking stability and traction. Because the course runs through an open urban environment, weather conditions such as wind, temperature, and track surface heat can influence tire performance and race strategy throughout the weekend.

With strong regional support and a location between two major stadium venues, the event is designed to become a major motorsports destination in Arlington and across North Texas.
