Summary: Thursday night into Friday morning will see a surface low-pressure system move a cold front through the Eastern US. This front will stall just North of the Mississippi & Alabama Gulf Coast.  Weak upper-level divergence will help to destabilize the atmosphere from Thursday to Sunday.  The stalled front will act as a lifting mechanism for showers and thunderstorms in the region on Friday & Saturday.  Currently, it is too far out to be certain of any timing or strength of precipitation, but it will most likely be confined to afternoon hours. On Sunday, a weak upper-level trough will lead to the development of a weak surface low-pressure system along the Texas Gulf Coast.  This system will move Eastward on Sunday and will bring more precipitation to the region on Sunday afternoon. Again, it is too far out for accurate timing or strength of the precipitation, but there is a substantial chance for rain throughout Sunday afternoon.  After the low-pressure system passes on Sunday, upper-level convergence and dry cold air from the North will lead to clear skies throughout the day. We will continue to update the forecast as the week progresses.
