Morning cloud cover is expected, especially in the 5-9 AM window, due to residual moisture and slight boundary-layer saturation near the surface.

More about the ROVAL at Charlotte Motor Speedway
The ROVAL at Charlotte Motor Speedway is a hybrid road-course/oval layout that merges parts of the infield road course with the high-banked turns of the 1.5-mile oval. The current configuration features 17 turns over approximately 2.28 miles, with roughly 35 feet of elevation change and chicanes on both the backstretch and just before the start/finish line.
Historically, Charlotte hosted its fall NASCAR Cup race on the pure oval from its opening season in 1960 through 2017. In 2018, officials introduced the ROVAL layout as the first road-course version for the second Charlotte date, turning what had been an oval test into a cutting-edge twist for NASCAR’s playoff system.
Since its debut, the ROVAL has become a high-dramatic fixture in NASCAR’s postseason. Every ROVAL race has served as a playoff elimination event, with championship implications intensifying every turn.
In 2024, the layout was refined: Turn 6 was altered, Turn 16’s chicane sharpened, and the straight from Turn 5 extended, aiming to provide more passing zones and force fresh strategic thinking.
