WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is a 2.238-mile, 11-turn road course located near Monterey, California. Opened in 1957, the circuit is renowned for its dramatic elevation changes and one of motorsports’ most recognizable sections, the Corkscrew, a steep downhill combination through Turns 8 and 8A.
The track’s location in California’s coastal hills adds another challenge: weather conditions can vary considerably between the cool, marine-influenced mornings and warmer afternoons. Low clouds and fog may occasionally affect the circuit early in the day before clearing. Laguna Seca has hosted many of North America’s premier sports-car and motorcycle series and remains a demanding venue where elevation, grip levels and changing track temperatures can play significant roles.
