Friday: Mostly cloudy, hot and humid. Thunderstorms possible, especially late afternoon and evening. High near 88°F, with a heat index near 102°F. Rain chance 40% afternoon, 60% Friday night.
Saturday: A few morning showers or thunderstorms possible, then partly sunny and hot. High near 89°F. Rain chance 20% during the day, increasing again Saturday night.

An unsettled pattern will continue around Knoxville through Saturday as Iowa remains near the northern edge of a strengthening central U.S. ridge. Thunderstorms are likely late Thursday night, with locally heavy rainfall possible. A Flood Watch remains in effect through 10 a.m. Saturday, and additional rounds of storms could aggravate already wet conditions.
Friday brings increasing heat and humidity, with temperatures approaching 90°F and heat indices potentially reaching 102°F. Another disturbance moving around the ridge could trigger thunderstorms late Friday afternoon and Friday night, with locally heavy rain and an isolated severe storm possible.
Saturday should offer a better window for daytime activities, although an early shower or storm cannot be ruled out. Additional thunderstorms become more likely again Saturday night.

Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, is one of the most iconic venues in American dirt-track racing. Known as the “Sprint Car Capital of the World,” the legendary half-mile dirt oval is located at the Marion County Fairgrounds and has been a centerpiece of sprint car competition for generations.
The track is best known as the home of the Knoxville Nationals, one of sprint car racing’s premier events, while also hosting weekly competition and other major events throughout the season.
