Harvick is good to the last drop

As Harvick was running out of fuel with 40 laps to go, his goal was to stay on the lead lap. Not only did he stay on the lead lap, ironically, he pulled ahead of Carl Edwards, who himself was running out of fuel. That was what Harvick needed to win in the desert. A dominating win in the desert

While this isn’t Vegas, you can still gamble in Arizona. But I wouldn’t bet against Kyle Busch starting from the pole, especially at Phoenix. Kyle Busch won by more than four seconds, ahead of Justin Allgaier. For more information on the race and the Nationwide Series championship, go to Speedway Digest.

Youth owns the day

Discovered at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL during their annual Snowball Derby by Kyle Busch, Erik Jones was fast-tracked to the Camping World Truck Series. In his first season, he became the youngest winner in Series history, eclipsing Chase Elliott’s record set earlier this year. For more details, go to Speedway Digest.

Texas Motor Speedway

One more win, One step closer

Six may be Jimmie Johnson’s lucky number. Johnson’s sixth win of the season may have put him on track for his sixth Cup championship. This was a dominant win for Johnson as he led 255 of the 367 laps at Texas Motor Speedway. Combine that with a speeding down pit road penalty for Matt Kenseth and Johnson is looking strong for another Championship trophy. For more details, go to Speedway Digest.

Keslowski outduels Hamlin for Nationwide at Texas

Keslowski ran up front early and late, turning his dominant performance into a nearly a one-second win at Texas Motor Speedway. The highest finishing Nationwide regular was Sam Hornish as Denny Hamlin ran second to Keslowski. This win gave the Penske #22 a definitive edge in the Owners’ Points for the Nationwide Series. 50 years later…

While the big story of the day was Darrell Wallace’s victory, the close second of the day was Kevin Harvick’s meltdown about fellow RCR driver, Ty Dillon. For more about the real story of the day, go to Speedway Digest.com.
