The Autodromo Nazionale Monza, located just north of Milan, is one of motorsport’s most historic venues and is appropriately nicknamed the “Temple of Speed.” Built in only 110 days in 1922, Monza became the world’s third purpose-built permanent racing circuit, following Brooklands and Indianapolis.

The current 5.793-kilometer (3.600-mile) Grand Prix circuit is characterized by exceptionally long straights, heavy braking zones and famous corners including the Lesmos, Ascari chicane and Curva Alboreto, traditionally known as Parabolica.

Monza has hosted the Italian Grand Prix in every Formula 1 season except 1980, making it one of the championship’s most enduring venues. Remnants of the circuit’s spectacular old high-speed banking remain alongside the modern track, providing a visible connection to more than a century of racing history.
