New Hampshire Motor Speedway -
NASCAR Weather Forecast Discussion

From Friday into Saturday, central New Hampshire will initially lie under the influence of a ridge of high pressure extending southward from eastern Canada. This ridge will maintain stable conditions and fair skies for much of Friday, with light winds and seasonably mild temperatures. By late Saturday, however, a weak upper-level trough approaches from the northwest, carrying a surface cold front southward across northern New England. Increasing cloud cover and a modest rise in moisture will accompany the front, raising the likelihood of scattered showers late Saturday into Sunday.

As the front settles through the region on Sunday, the ridge begins to reassert itself from the north, bringing a drier, cooler airmass into place by Sunday night. While the cold front is not expected to be especially strong, its passage will mark a shift from stable, late-summer warmth toward clearer skies, lower humidity, and cooler overnight lows heading into early next week.

More about New Hampshire Motor Speedway

New Hampshire Motor Speedway, located in Loudon, is the largest sports facility in New England and a cornerstone of the region’s motorsports culture. Known as “The Magic Mile,” the track is a 1.058-mile asphalt oval that also incorporates a 1.6-mile road course configuration. Opened in 1990 on the site of the former Bryar Motorsports Park, the facility quickly established itself as a premier racing venue, attracting national attention through its blend of short-track intensity and intermediate-style speed. The oval is relatively flat compared to many NASCAR tracks, with variable banking between two and seven degrees, creating tight racing conditions and emphasizing driver skill and strategy over raw horsepower.

The speedway hosts a wide variety of events, most prominently NASCAR’s Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Whelen Modified Tour, along with regional races, motorcycle events, and non-racing functions such as concerts and community festivals. Its summer NASCAR Cup race is one of New England’s largest sporting events, drawing fans from across the Northeast and Canada. Beyond racing, the track has become an economic driver for the region, supporting tourism and local business while serving as a year-round hub for motorsports activity. This mix of top-tier competition, community engagement, and regional impact has cemented New Hampshire Motor Speedway as both a fan favorite and an essential stop on the American racing calendar
