Any stronger storm could produce locally damaging wind gusts, making Friday’s afternoon practice and qualifying sessions, and potentially the 7:30 PM Truck Series race, the primary weather concern.
By Saturday, the more organized storm corridor should shift away from central Virginia. While an isolated afternoon thunderstorm cannot be ruled out, conditions should be more favorable for the 7:00 PM NASCAR Cup Series race, with fewer weather-related interruptions expected.
