Summary: Wednesday & Thursday will see the development of a surface low-pressure in the lee of the Rocky Mountains associated with a robust upper-level trough. Conditions will be favorable for severe thunderstorms on Wednesday & Thursday. By Thursday night this low-pressure system will move a cold front through the region, with a weak high-pressure system settling in on Friday. Friday afternoon will see a second low-pressure system form in the lee of the Rockies in association with an upper-level shortwave trough, slowly moving into the region early in the day on Saturday. This low-pressure system will lead to precipitation forming along the warm front, possibly impacting the region from Saturday morning to Saturday afternoon. By Saturday night the low-pressure system will move to the Northeast but will leave behind a stalled front on the Kansas-Oklahoma border that will remain there until Monday. A high-pressure system will move into the region On Sunday as the low-pressure system progresses further to the Northeast. A very small chance for precipitation remains on Sunday, as elevated showers could develop due to the stalled front.
